Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in English literature. Mitchell was recruited as a reporter for KYW Radio and TV Philadelphia in the year 1967. She was a reporter for the CBS subsidiary WDVM-TV (then WTOP) in Washington DC in 1976. In Washington, she was appointed general correspondent by NBC News two year later. 1980 began her coverage of the White House. 1988 became the main congressional reporter. Mitchell became the chief White House reporter in 1992, and chief Foreign Affairs correspondent at NBC News. Mitchell hosted and participated as panelists on the TV show Meet the Press. She was on the panel in 1988's presidential debates in which George Bush against Michael Dukakis. Mitchell got married to Alan Greenspan the former chairman of Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has been awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. In 2004 the Radio-Television News Directors Association, (RTNDA), honored Mitchell for her contribution in the defense of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell was the first journalist to cover White House stories for NBC News during the presidency of Ronald Reagan as president from 1981-1988. Her reporting included a number of crucial stories such as the Iran-contra scandal, the tax reform and the budget in addition to the arms control. She traveled widely along with President Reagan for summits together with Mikhail Gorbachev.
